Yoga of the Heart
The Yoga Sutras refer to the heart as the seat of consciousness. Asanas that help us open the chest give us confidence, a sense of freedom, and allow us to breathe with more ease. When we invoke heart-full qualities referred to in the Yoga Sutras throughout the practice, we cultivate a deep sense of communion and integration. By infusing the practice of asana (physical poses) with kindness, generosity and compassion, deep relaxation and equanimity are invoked, which activates the heart chakra.
Six months' Iyengar Yoga experience is suggested.
Vladimir Jandov, an Intermediate Junior II certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, has trained with Elise Miller to learn the method of working with persons with scoliosis. His main teachers are Manouso Manos and James Benvenuto. Since he started teaching in 2002, Vladimir guides his students with enthusiasm and sensitivity for each person.
