Yoga for Anxiety
Summer's over and we may be getting anxious as we return to work and begin to prepare for the holidays. The result for many of us: tight necks and shoulders, clenched teeth and sleepless nights. Fortunately, numerous studies, including one undertaken at UCLA, indicate that an Iyengar yoga practice can reduce stress, improve mood and increase overall energy. In this workshop, Senior teacher Eric Small will lead you through a series of soothing asanas to help you manage your anxiety and remain calm.
Eric was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 22 and soon after became a serious student of Iyengar yoga which helped him with the effects of his illness. He has been teaching yoga since the mid-1960s and holds Intermediate Senior 2 Iyengar yoga certification. His work was recognized in 1999 with the Hope for MS Award and in 2001 by his induction into the National MS Society Volunteer Hall of Fame.
