Yoga and Anatomy: The Digestive and Reproductive Systems
In this workshop, we will study and build the digestive and reproductive organs in clay, learn about their structure and location, the contents of the abdominal cavity, and their function and pathologies. It will give you a 3-dimensional view of the body. The vital body pervades the visible external parts of the body necessary to the continuation of life. So does the practice of yoga itself squeezing, filtering, dilating, rinsing and bringing energy and juice (rasa) to the whole body.
This class is open to all students who have practiced Iyengar Yoga for six months or more.
These workshops are for students of yoga and yoga teachers who are interested in deepening their knowledge of the human body. Laura’s workshops involve using clay to build body parts on skeletons as well as working on the mat with yoga postures to feel the muscles and organic body that they have built with clay. This approach allows participants to understand the body in its three dimensions.
