Asanas for Lower Back Care

Chronic pain and discomfort in the lower back affects up to half of Americans older than 25 and is often linked to a sedentary lifestyle, arthritis, or injuries resulting from improper alignment. An attentive and stimulating yoga practice with B.K.S. Iyengar’s use of props can help release tension, make space in the joints, increase circulation and decrease inflammation, improving the lower back condition. In this workshop, students will be introduced to postures that create mobility and stability in the legs, hips, and abdomen to release pressure and strain in the lower back.
 
Vladimir Jandov, a certified Intermediate Junior II Iyengar yoga teacher, has trained with Elise Miller to learn the method of working with people with scoliosis. His main teachers are Manouso Manos and James Benvenuto.
